Recently joining Lydia Cunningham's group, Nicki took on the challenge of The Mayflower Half Marathon Trail last Sunday alongside Lydia Cunningham and Lucy Bannatyne. The off-road race from Harwich to Mistley presented them with challenging terrain and the added factor of extremely hot weather on the day. Starting at Green Park and finishing on the Mall was The London National Vitality 10km event.  Finishing 90 seconds behind Mo Farrah and passing Callum Hawkins (who led the Commonwealth marathon for 25 miles), was Ramadan Osman. Running a fantastic race in the heat, he knocked two minutes off his previous time, clocking a new and superb personal best of 31-18. Tom Cresswell 36-13, Gavin Scanlon 37-09. The Harriers Adrian Mussett has been winning championships for over 30 years now, aged 46 he still brings home the prizes. Mussett stormed to victory at the Colchester Stampede 10k, in a superb time of 32-40, very well clear of the field. Paul Rodgers was 8th in 37-30. The Boxted 10km is a new race on the calendar. Very warm weather was the order of the day for the small team of Harriers competing. Sadly, due to the large number of enquiries on top of an already large development group, CHAC has had to close its waiting list for the forseeable future.  If your child's name is already on our list it will remain there unless you tell us to remove it. On a hot summer Sunday, Dobson donned his nations vest to compete for the GB Junior team against senior teams from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, as well as a team from Loughborough University A.C and one made up of British Universities (BUCS) athletes. Colchester Harriers had a superb set of results on the road topped off by Ramadam Osmans great victory to win the Essex Track 5000m Championship held at Chelmsford in 15-29. Aiko Hennington is a lady in top form. The over 45 runner who is coming back from injury, yet manged two victories winning the Harwich 5km in 18-48 and the Colchester 10km in 39-10, Lucy Mapp was runner up in 40-11. Day One of the County Champs (Saturday 12 May) lived up to its usual reputation of providing crazy weather conditions; bright, sunny and warm, swiftly turning chilly, breezy and wet. Another trend has seen a steady decline in the number of competitors with many races now being run as a straight final.  How brilliant, it was then to see so many green vests competing – the commentator even announced that it looked like there was a take-over bid by the Harriers! Very warm weather greeted a group of Colchester Harriers, who travelled to Thorpeness for the popular multi terrain coastal race which have seen many Harriers victories over the years. Ged McMillan finally got the better of Allen Smalls in the half marathon, pulling away in the last mile to beat the experienced Smalls by 15 seconds. Blistering results on scorching day

A strong EYAL team performed excellently in their second match of the season in a shade deprived St. Albans to compete in sweltering temperatures. Provisional results placed the club in third place, amassing 592 points - one of the largest scores in Harriers history. Outstanding performances of the day came from Milly Presland (U15) in the 1500m, where she confidently took the lead round the three and three-quarter laps to finish well ahead of the second placed runner to claim a Club Record that had stood since 2012, in a time of 4:56.1s.
