Superb Weekend Racing
Colchester Harriers had a superb set of results on the road topped off by Ramadam Osmans great victory to win the Essex Track 5000m Championship held at Chelmsford in 15-29.
Aiko Hennington is a lady in top form. The over 45 runner who is coming back from injury, yet manged two victories winning the Harwich 5km in 18-48 and the Colchester 10km in 39-10, Lucy Mapp was runner up in 40-11. Heidi Steele at the Maldon 5km.
Allen Smalls 2-48-58 continued his amazing marathon run, finishing 4th overall at Halstead in the Essex Championship and was 3rd Essex runner so took the county individual Bronze and the over 50 gold medal.
Doug McGillivray is running really well, not only winning the Maldon 5km in 16-14, he was 3rd at Colchesters 10k and first veteran with a time of 34-48. At the same race second claim Jordan Middlemist swept to victory in 34-27, with Nate Filer 34-46 in second spot. Followed by Richard Heath 35-18, Danny Millward 35-50, Colin Ridley 7th. Ridley in a time of 36-31 was first veteran over 55.
The Elite Twilight 5km saw Tom Cresswell lead the Harriers home in a time of 16-58, Cresswell was also 3rd at Harwich 5km in 17-16. James Waterson had a personal best 17-47, as did Alex Sales in 17-38. Peter West continues to run through his injuries clocking 18-03. Young Joseph Boden was also beating his best ever time in 17-51.
Danny Millward was runner up at Maldon 5km in 16-42. At the Park runs Debbie Cattermole and Richard Flutter set new age records at Felixstowe, while Denise Morley won Mersea , and Cheryl Appleby stormed to victory at the Dolgellau event in Mid Wales.
