Keeping Company With Mo

Starting at Green Park and finishing on the Mall was The London National Vitality 10km event.  Finishing 90 seconds behind Mo Farrah and passing Callum Hawkins (who led the Commonwealth marathon for 25 miles), was Ramadan Osman. Running a fantastic race in the heat, he knocked two minutes off his previous time, clocking a new and superb personal best of 31-18. Tom Cresswell 36-13, Gavin Scanlon 37-09. Paul Rodgers who is still nursing an injury came home in 37-17. Richard Flutter 39-05, Simon Smith 40-30 and Keiron Callaghan in 49 mins. Representing the ladies were Debbie Cattermole, Cheryl Appleby, Kate Gibson, Jackie MacLanne, Louise Yates and Rachel Rodgers.

At the Sudbury 5 mile race, Harriers Ermeas Aferwerki was runner up in 28-10 just one second behind winner Tom Adams of Ipswich Harriers. Our very own Aiko Hennington supplied the winning Vet female, in a time of 30-50, which also saw her placed 2nd female overall. Pete West was first over 50 in 30-36.

Ed Mitchell ran really well at the Hatfield Broad Oak 10km and finished in the top ten, with sixth place. Wayne Cook was just 2 seconds off his Woodbridge 10km time of the previous week in 37-59.

Allen Smalls 18-02 and Rebecca Cooke 20-10 strode to victory at the Clare Castle Parkrun, both times were age category records at the race, Paul Rodgers was 3rd, Craig Mitchell 6th.
The Colchester Castle park run had 324 runners and Harriers had a 1,2,3, in the mens race thanks to Angus Holford, Danny Millward and Richard Heath. With David Allworthy just missing out in 4th place. Ged McMillan was 6th, Ian Haw 8th.  Helen Taczynski made it another double victory for Harriers with a good run to finish well clear of the runner up. Andy Jobling won the mersea park run at Cudmore Grove with team mate Ziggy Lampon in second place.
