Nicki Kudela is not only a newcomer to the club but also to running. Recently joining Lydia Cunningham’s group, Nicki took on the challenge of The Mayflower Half Marathon Trail last Sunday alongside Lydia Cunningham and Lucy Bannatyne.

The off-road race from Harwich to Mistley presented them with challenging terrain and the added factor of extremely hot weather on the day. It was fantastically organised by the Rotary Club and provided all participants with beautiful scenery, largely along the Essex Way. The three ladies ran together to support newcomer, Nicki  who has never previously run this distance – indeed, it was her first race ever! Nicki completed this in 2.20.34; a fantastic time indeed for someone so new to running and in such hot conditions and on uneven terrain! Well done – a great achievement.
