At the South of England Athletic Under 20 and Senior Championships, Colchester Harriers had some great performances, particularly in the Under 20 men’s Hammer competition, where James Hamblin produced a new personal best and club record, with a throw of 66.35m, which earned him a Silver medal and was only beaten by a new national record. Kelly Sutton came back from a short lay off to come 5th in her heat of the Senior Women’s 100m with a 12.75secs and made it through to the final of the 200m recording 25.55secs in the process. Essex County Championships Melbourne Park Chelmsford

Colchester Harriers had 2 of their most successful days ever in the 2015 Essex championships at Chelmsford collecting a fantastic 18 medals including 8 golds, 8 silvers a 2 bronze. Rebecca Jeggo won gold in a tremendously hard fought 200m. 20m down off the bend she forced her way back into the race down the home straight to win gold on the dip by 200ths of a second against a quality field. Fastest six men from Harriers as Sellens and Stradling set records The first race of the summer Promenade Handicap 5km series held at Maldon Park saw Colchester Harriers monopolise the race with the six fastest men and course records for Chris Sellens and Sarah Stradling. Sellens only a couple of weeks after becoming Essex Marathon Champion tore around the course in 16-18 to beat his own and the races old record set last year. Ridley third in age group The Bupa London National 10km Championships is a huge race, and this year the overall winners were Andy Vernon 28-38 and Jo Pavey 32-56. Best individual performance on the day from Colchester Harriers was from super veteran over 50 Colin Ridley who clocked 34-51 and 3rd in his age group to take the bronze medal. Another victory for Smalls Colchester Harriers ultra expert Allen Smalls stormed to victory at the first running of the Bury to Clare Challenge an 18 mile mixture of road and trail finishing at the old Clare Railway station. Mussett and Stradling dominate again It was total domination by Colchester Harriers Adrian Mussett and Sarah Stradling yet again at the Colchester 10km where 470 runners completed the course. Mussett ran 32-11 to finsh over 3 minutes clear of Haverings Richard Heath who still clocked a fine 35-28 although going well off course and having to come back from 25th place at 4km ,Heath is moving to Colchester and joining Harriers shortly.
