Ridley third in age group

The Bupa London National 10km Championships is a huge race, and this year the overall winners were Andy Vernon 28-38 and Jo Pavey 32-56.

Best individual performance on the day from Colchester Harriers was from super veteran over 50 Colin Ridley who clocked 34-51 and 3rd in his age group to take the bronze medal.

Sarah Stradling ran her normal excellent race to come home 33rd lady in 36-27.

The Harriers ladies team was completed by Sarah Ivory 88th 39-28, and Laura Shewbridge 107th 40-32, also running well were Sara Wallace 44-26, and Hazel Harvey 46-05.

For the men it was Chris Sellens first home for the green vests the Halstead marathon winner was not at his best but still was 142nd in 34-39, then came Ridley 153rd 34-51 ,and final scorer Ged Mcmillan 203rd 35-50. The other men for Harriers were Mark Harrod 216th 36-00, and Paul Rogers 346th 38-02.
