Orion 15

Tough run, a win for Holford and glass of Bucks Fizz! For anyone who has not run the Orion 15, a test of x-country stamina and technique, then you really, really should sign up and have a go if you think you’re hard enough. It’s not a new race; 2016 was the 62nd event and its set in ancient Epping Forest, with sharp inclines, swooping downhills across wetlands, woodland and wet and dry heathland. Actually, it’s a Badland with copious amounts of heavy mud, brambles and some hard trail for recovery. In the car this day were Clarke, driving, Holford, talking, Smith grinning and Rodgers... read more

Park Run

Colchester Park Run Thanks to all 42 Harriers who were volunteers at the Colchester Castle Park run, which we were staging for the 4th or maybe 5th time. 340 runners came to the line, an incredible turn out for this super weekly event, which inspires more people to get running then any of the high profile London Games legacy efforts will ever do. Special thanks to Pete West and Dan Foster who were the early birds to set up the course as dawn was breaking! Not only did we marshal, but we also supplied 15 Pace makers to encourage runners to go for their personal bests. Danny... read more

High drama at relays as Harriers take 21 medals Colchester Harriers travelled with a huge squad of 17 teams to the Essex Road Relays held along a breezy Harwich seafront, with the mens race 4 x 5km and the ladies and veterans running 3 x 5km. Colchester Half Marathon

Mussett in a different class A cold but fine sunny day greeted the 2500 runners at the Colchester half marathon, a brisk wind kept the runners out of the comfort zone, but good times were seen as the finishers crossed the line at the Community stadium. Colchester Harriers Adrian Mussett is a one off, age seems no barrier for the Harriers Talisman, although well into his 40s the most successful and consistent runner that Colchester has ever produced continues to suprise. His incredible fast start meant the race was over at the mile marker and by the finish Mussett was over 3 minutes... read more
