A very chilly Thursday 20th December, saw some great performances at the Colchester Invitational Winter throws competition. In the weight throws stalwart Rob Earle produced a season's best performance of 18.89m, whilst new signings Megan Larkins (17.09m) and Billy Praim-Singh (15.02m) both achieved personal best throws..In the 3kg hammer throw Olivia Simon concluded her 2018 competitions with a personal best throw and a new U15 club record of 41.66m. Runners v Riders Cross Country

The traditional  clash of the club Runners v Cyclists for the Markham Cup gets underway at Friday Woods, Colchester on Boxing Day morning starting at 11am, the senior men run three laps of the 2,000m course, the ladies two laps and the U15's one lap which will be for the Neil Pears Trophy.  There is also an U13 race of 2 laps in the woods of 800m starting at 10:20am.  All age groups compete at their own risk. Veteran ladies on course to win Essex league

The latest Essex Cross Country league fixture was run in high winds and bitterly cold temperatures on the open plains of Horseheath Point to Point racecourse in Cambridgeshire. The Veteran lady Harriers clocked up their second consecutive victory to put them well on course to win the league with two fixtures to go.  Aiko Hennington led the charge in 11th spot and was joined in the team by Denise Morley 15th and Annette Oakman 34th. Over 50’s take silver medals in tight finish

The Harriers over 50 mens team have had a very successful season taking silver team medals at the Southern Road Relays and retaining their Essex Cross Country Championship team crown at Hilly Fields this month.  The season was rounded off with a fine cross country display at the South of England Masters Cross Country Championship, held at Oxford at the weekend.  In a very tight team event only nine points separated the first five teams, with the Harriers taking the silver medals finishing a single point behind Thames Hare And Hounds, with third placed London Heathside a further two... read more

Thank you to everyone who contributed items or their time in advance of and during the recent vets and junior cross country hosted by the Club at Hilly Fields. The cake stall took a healthy amount which will be used by the Club for the benefit of its athletes. There were some food items which remained unsold and these were donated to the Colchester night Shelter where they were received with thanks.
