Norwich 10k
Mussett sets new record
Colchester Harriers Adrian Mussett has been in fine form this year , 3,500 runners lined up for the inaugural Norwich 10km and Mussett showed he has lost none of his speed finishing 3rd overall in a great time of 32-11 and was the first veteran runner, Sarah Stradling was also showing top quality coming home 37th overall and 2nd lady in 36.34.
Colchester Park Run
The previous week Mussett lowered his own Colchester Castle Park run 5km record to 15-23 on a hot morning , Sarah Stradling was 4th in 18-42,with Martyn Clarke having a cracker of a race 5th in 18-48 (Pb), Simon taylor was 6th 18-54, and David Wright 7th 19-25, Laura Shewbridge was 2nd lady while Malcolm Staham 20-18, Dan Wilkinson 21-17, and Isabel Sawyer 26.55 all ran personal bests.
The Latest Colchester Castle Park 5km took place at the Rugby Club Mill road and is a faster course then the hilly park. Laura Shewbridge was 2nd in 19-06, and Alice Addison 4th in a personal best 19-35, Amanda Henry ran a fine race as she started on the comeback trail . Malcolm Statham was another to clock his fastest time in 19-49.
The Colchester Garrison Trail race saw the long course won by Allen Smalls, Daz Farrugi, Sean Ketteridge, and Keith Marley who all clocked 67-50, while the fastest on the short course was Pat Marsh in 38-21.
The Southampton sprint Triathlon was held in terrible conditions with driving rain and storms, Rachel Richardson Wright completed the event in 1-34.
Rutland Water Triathlon
Mellissa Dowell continued her good Triathlon form with a 2nd place at the Vitruvian middle distance event held at Rutland water, Dowell completed the half marathon run in a superb 1-36, to finish in 4.40 with the 47 year old only beaten in the final rankings by a 25 year old.
Mersea 10
The Mersea 10 mile road race saw Debbie Cattermole 2nd lady and 1st veteran in 35-15, while Annette Oakman was 2nd lady in the 10 mile race in 72-37, Malcolm Statham clocked 74-05.
