Juniors competing in the Ipswich Virtual Relays
In the recent Ipswich Jaffa junior virtual relays Colchester Harriers entered a small team of athletes competing in a number of age groups.
With some Strong teams entered including a number from Australia the young Harriers total points meant a 3rd place finish of 13 clubs.
The U13G team of Lyla Belshaw, Isla Widdowson and Ella Licence posted some amazing times for the 2k distance, Lyla led the way with 7.03 this was well supported with Isla 7.48 and Ella 8.18 placing them a clear 1st.
The U11G team consisted of 3 young siblings of club members, Rebecca Walder, Audrey Butler and Amelia Bueggeln their first outing for the club brought them a brilliant 2nd place. The U11B team consisting of Alex Widdowson, James Clarke and Hayden Preston weren’t to be outdone also placed 2nd to a strong Ipswich Jaffa team.
The U13 B team Henry Rutland, Finley Greenleaf & Caleb Lee also finished in a top 3 position with 3rd place.
A strong U15G team competing over a slightly longer 3k course took 2nd position being pipped to the number one spot by West Suffolk, the team consisted of Lizzie Welsted, Maisy Wood and Emily McGill.
There were a number of other teams including U13G Eva Butler, Eliza Shippey, Isabelle Bueggeln, U15G team Rachel Sale, Alice Begg, Daisy Bell 6th, U17G Amelia Green, Emily Swan, Emily Henderson 4th. Individual performances in Alex Walder, Charlie Rutland and Harrison Leek.
