Harriers Extend Their Cross Country Lead

Colchester Harriers strengthened their position at the top of the Eyes Rite NESS Cross Country League on Sunday 12th December with a convincing victory in the third fixture of the season at the town’s Hilly Fields course. Harriers had no fewer than seven of the top twelve men’s finishers and eight of the leading thirteen women as they finished comfortably ahead of second placed Ipswich Jaffa.


Angus Holford led the way, winning the men’s event, with Jordan Middlemist third, James Morley seventh, Cameron Humphries eighth, Nate Filer ninth, Chris Sellens tenth, Dan Widdowson eleventh with Tim Ballard completing the scoring team in 26th place. Colchester’s women were led home by Lydia Callen in second place followed by team captain Tracy English in third, Emma Burgess fourth, Jennifer Lovelock sixth, Emese Bartha seventh and Denise Morley eight. Harriers are now three points clear in Pool A and with only two fixtures are in a strong position to retain their title.
