England Athletics Under 23/Under 20 Championships

A blistering hot weekend brought some blistering speed from the uk’s top under 20 and under 23 athletes at the Bedford International Stadium, many of whom were looking for qualifying times for this years European championships.
Among those at Bedford, was the recent South of England under 20 Hammer champion, Phillipa Davenall ,unfortunately this time Phillipa had to settle for 8th in final, her best throw being 51.05m.
Jordan Rowe put in a good performance in the under 23 men’s 1500m, running
3min 54.18secs for 10 place in his heat, while Caitlin O’Reilly continues to improve with her run in the under 20 women’s 100m, finishing 6th in 12.38secs.
Charlie Dobson continues to look like he has an exciting future ahead of him, running a pb of 21.35secs while winning his heat of the under 20 men’s 200metres, progressing  to the semi finals and final, where he finished the day in 6th place.
Rebecca Jeggo was also competing in the 200 metres, in the under 20 women’s age group and also gave a good account of herself, reaching the semi finals with a time of 24.99secs.
With some of these athletes being the first year of this age group, it looks very promising for their future development.
