Rob Earle in fine form
Rob Earle has been in fine form recently setting records for the hammer throw in the masters 55 age group.
Braintree 19th September
Competing as a guest of Braintree and District AC, at their club championships, Rob set figures of 50.42m, with the senior weight (7.26kg) hammer, to surpass the age 55 best of 50.17.
Bury St Edmunds 3rd October
At the first of five meetings in a winter throws series, hosted by Thetford AC at Bury St Edmunds, Rob was using the lighter 6kg hammer which is the standard weight for the masters age groups. Here he recorded 56.00m, surpassing the previous record of 55.02m.
Woodford Green 10th October
At the British Hammer Circle meeting held at Woodford Green, Rob further improved the record. In a fine series of throws, including three attempts over the 56m set a week earlier, Rob produced a best throw of 58.52m.
This throw of 58.52m is a new British Masters over 55 record, and a 2015 world lead for the same age group.
