Sub 16 min and top ten finish for Mussett at the Lord Mayor’s 5k in Norwich
Adrian Mussett continues to fly the flag for top class road running in Colchester. Although 47 he still produced a quality performance to finish first veteran and ninth overall in the prestigious Lord Mayors 5km race held in Norwich city centre clocking a very impressive 15m 48s.
Andy Jobling was runner up at the tough off road North Downs Marathon held from Reigate clocking 3h 44m although going off course early on, Allen Smalls was 3rd in 3h 48m, while Fay Smalls clocked 2h 58m in the Half Marathon event.
In the Mile event at the night of the 10,000s in London, Paul Rodgers ran a fine 5m 20s.
The Masters track league saw great results by the Harriers at the latest league fixture, with the home match to go Colchester Harriers men are third needing to beat Thurrock at the Garrison to make the final, the ladies sparkling performances see then positioned second and guaranteed a spot in the final.
Ermeas Aferwerki ran a personal best 27m 08s to finish 4th in the Great Bentley 5 mile race, Mark McKeown was 11th 27m 54s, then in 18th came Tom Cresswell 28m 38s, 24th Colin Ridley 29m 03s (first veteran over 55), 31st Fergus Crouch 29m 27s, 32nd Jon Nears 29m 33s, 41st Pete West 30m 00s, 44th Keith Marley 30m 11s, 46th Mikey Smith 30m 21s, 51st Will Radley 30m 36s, and 53rd Paul Dellar 30m 44s.
