City of Norwich Half Marathon
Mussett wins again
Over the years Adrian Mussett has won or been placed in the City of Norwich Half Marathon numerous times, and this year at the tender age of 43 he swept to victory again in a field of 3000. In very cold weather with snow falling as the runners set off Mussett set off at his normal fast pace to take the leading pack out early on and sweep to victory in 69.46 to take the senior and first veteran prize. He was 28 seconds clear of Piers Arnold of City of Norwich. Carwyn Jones kept up his amazing form with a fine 8th place in 73.02 a new personal best . Colin Ridley made up the team in 16th spot clocking 1-18-10 and was first veteran over 50.
Martyn Clarke ran a fine 1-28-07. Sarah Stradling another who has won the race on various occasions over the years , was pipped to 2nd spot this time , but clocked a good time of 1-21-59 in what was a difficult race. Anita Mussett ran well for 1-45-50.
Chelmsford 10km
Becky Cooke continued her improvement with a superb 3rd spot at the Chelmsford 10km in a personal best 40-40, Dan Wilkinson 42-58 also ran his fastest ever 10km knocking 30 seconds off his previous standard in.
Colchester Park Run
At the Colchester Park run terrible weather was the order of the day , amazingly 119 runners got to the line for the 9.0am start, Colchester Harriers filled 3 of the first 4 home, with Mark Harrod 1st, Pete West 3rd, and David Wright 4th. Richard Boden was 6th and Sophie Stephenson 26th.
