Juniors bask in glorious autumn sunshine
A stunning Autumn morning saw the First Event of the Ness Cross Country League hosted by Ipswich Jaffa at equally stunning Ipswich High School which was familiar location to athletes today who had competed in the Ekiden Relays over the summer.
It was great to see a strong 20 junior Athletes turn out in their green vests and a huge well done to those racing for the 2nd consecutive day after Saturdays challenging Essex League event at Gloucester Park Basildon.
The race kicked off in stunning sunshine at 10am and the Mile course with mild undulations headed off around the back of the school coming back for a loop of the field full of senior athlete spectators.
First Harrier over the line was Rowan Weir in 12th position for the boys quickly followed by Max Faulkner in 13th and Finlay Weir in 15th. Great Performances also from Harry Jefferies, James Heath, Matthew Feaviour and Fin McGonagle.
Ella-Grace Simpson was first girl over the Line in 10th quickly followed by Jemima Garner in 11th and Georgia Banyard in13th. Great performances as well from Sienna Faulkner, Eliza Smith, Nancy Garner, Evelyn Clapp, Izzie Bueggeln, Florence Beddis, Darcey Smith, Orla Sutcliffe, Rosie Wass and Bethany Reynolds.
It has been great this weekend to see our newest Junior Members in the U11 age group take up the challenge of Cross Country. Particular well done to Sienna Faulkner and James Heath who both finished in top 6 positions in the Essex League u11 on Saturday and strong Positions in a mixed age group race today.
The junior team also brought back the Shield for winning last Years Ness Junior league title which will sit proudly in the cabinet in the clubhouse.
