Milly shines at the Essex Schools Cross Country Championships

A number of Colchester Harriers young athletics competed for North East Essex in the Essex Schools Cross Country Championships at the Apex Playing Fields, Hockley on Saturday.

The best placed Harrier was Milly Presland who finished sixth in the Inter Girls race to qualify for the English Schools Cross Country Championships at Leeds in a few weeks time. Madeleine Claydon finished in a fine 27th place. In the Inter boys race Chris Smith finished 37th.

Five Harriers were part of the North East Essex team that finished second in the Senior Boys race. Danny Millward continued his fine cross country season finishing 11th in 23m 51s in a high quality race. Millward was just 62 seconds behind the race winner. Other Harriers to finish were Ermeas Afewerki 14th in 24m 00s, Joe Boden 20th in 25m 10s, Victor Steinward 21st in 25m 14s and Thomas Palmer 22nd 25m 15s.
