Another record for Mussett
Adrian Mussett, though nearly 47, keeps turning out the records. At Mersea park run at Cudmore Grove Adrian lowered his existing course record in clocking a time of 15m 38s. He is the only runner to have beaten 16 minutes at Mersea and Colchester Castle although many have tried and not reached such a high standard.
The Southend 10km saw a fine run by Jennifer Lovelock finishing third lady in 40m 24s, Ella Jeffries clocked 43m 05s. Keith Marley was second veteran over 50 in 37m 12s. James Wright was first home for the green vests in 36m 06s. Jon Nears 37m 26s, Colin Ridley 38m 03s, Gavin Scanlon 38m 24s and Andy Lovelock 39m 17s all ran well.
David Hilson ran a superb 3h 34m at the Loch Ness marathon, taking nine minutes off his personal best. Nicola Hilson crossed the line in an impressive 3h 52m. Malcolm Statham finished his 220th marathon and was first overall in the off road Flower of Suffolk event in 4h 27m. Paul Rodgers ran 3h 20m at the Chester Marathon, while Rachel Rodgers was in good form finishing in 2h 54m also at Chester in the 16.3 mile metric marathon .
In very wet conditions Helen Thurlow and Kieran Bettany completed the Colchester Zoo stampede run.
The Newtown Park run in Mid Wales saw Debbie Cattermole set a new over 55 ladies record of 22m 00s, and was first lady. Richard Flutter was fifth in 20m 15s. Paul Dobson ran his 250th park run at Maldon where Heidi Steele came third overall and first lady in a personal best 18m 42s.

Colchester Castle 1st Angus Holford 16m 35s, 2nd, Danny Millward 17m 05s, 4th, Jason Gunn 17m 18s, 6th, Ian Haw 18m 46s, 9th, Rob Cronshaw 19m 27s, 10th, Richard Boden 19m 27s. Ellie Mayne was the first lady home in 21m 40s. Under 13 Finley Greenleaf clocked a PB 21m 36s to finish 21st overall. There was also a PB for under 15 Lizzie Wellsted who clocked 22m 04s to finish second female. Mark Wellsted also clocked 22m 04s. Jackie McClannan made it a 1-2-3 for the ladies finishing in 23m 23s.
