70th Anniversary

British Hammer Circle Reunion

Harriers Wyatt Larkins had a blistering autumnal weekend at the Costello Stadium in Hull over the 15th-16th of October to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the reunion.

Wyatt was placed third overall in both the under Seventeen Hammer and Weight throw, achieving PB’s in each discipline.

In Larkins first Hammer competition, he produced a distance of 46.38m, which represented an increase from 45.61m. Later in the afternoon he produced a weight throw distance of 16.45m, again, another PB and under Club record for the age category.

Following on from some technical advice from Coach Denise Larkins, Wyatt obliterated his previous distance with a throw of 48.97m, thus moving him up seven places to eleventh spot on the UK rankings for 2022. Wyatt has another year in this age group which, with continued hard work and application should see him challenge for medals at both Regional and National level.

In addition, Coach Rob Earle attended the meet and despite carrying an injury was able to throw above the M60 Category for 2022; this matched his hammer position for the year. Topping this off on the following day by producing a throw which claimed a British Age Best within this discipline.
