17 in top 20 at Maldon Promenade

Colchester Harriers supplied 17 of the first 20 fastest runners home at the latest Maldon Promenade 5km Handicap race, held on a reasonably windy evening in the Park.
Danny Millward 17:01 and Mark Harrod 17:03 had their customary battle before as normal Millward came out on top, they finished 2nd and 3rd, also in the top 10 were Jon nears 17:26, Doug Mcgillian 18:02, Max Caulfield 18:13, Alex Sales (Pb) 18:15 and a returning from injury Ged McMillan 18:21.
Also in the top 20 were Craig Mitchell 18:29, James Waterson 18:38,Richard Boden 18:53, Chris Manby 18:58, Keith Marley 19:00, David Wright 19:02, Kevin Higgens 19:19 (Pb) and Richard Millward 19:29. Other Harriers to finish were Craig Harley 19:49 (Pb), Dan Wilkinson 19:50, Heide Steele 20:55, Hannah Rodgers 26:34 and Rachel Richardson-Wright 29:17.

Malcolm Statham ran two more Marthons in consecutive days to bring his total to 184, they were at Barrow in Suffolk and Statham clocked 3:39 and 3:47.

Arthur Whiston 32:41 won the over 65 category at the Great Bentley 5 and won the overall series crown. Wayne Cook ran 31:58 and then the next morning was 8th at the Great Cornard Park Run in 19:39. Other times were Paul Rodgers 29:49, keith Marley 31:21, Becky Cooke 32:59, Paul Preston 32:59, Ady frost 32:30, Malcolm Statham 34:24 and Dan Foster 31:54.

Martyn Clarke continued his Park run travels this time appearing at the Cassinbury Park event in Watford and ran well clocking 18:50 for 4th place out of 286 starters.

Rachel-Richardson-Wright completed a very tough Triathlon in the High peaks at Chatsworth Hall.

Colchester Harriers staged the latest Castle park 5km Park run. 325 runners completed the course assisted by 53 Pacers and marshalls from the club.
