London 10km

Ridley is number one

Great results came from Colchester Harriers over the last week, over 55 runner Colin Ridley produced an effort of 35:15 at the London National 10km to become the British number one over the distance. Ramadam Osman was not at his best but still clocked 33:50, with Paul Rodgers 36:39 and Danny Millward 36:44, Paul Spowage returned to form in 37:01, while Craig Mitchell passed the line in 39:53. Jo Boden ran 40 mins. Sarah Stradling 37:21 showed up well in the ladies event finishing 32nd overall and 3rd in the over 40 category.

Northumbria 100 mile and Stour Valley Marathon

Allan Smalls and Sean Ketteridge took on the formidable around Northumbria 100 mile event and were joint 3rd in this tough off road event in 23 hours and 28 minutes. Smalls followed this up with a third position at the Stour valley marathon only missing winning by 2 minutes. Wayne Cook, Chris Panton, Chris Manby, Anita Mussett, Linda Cunningham and Malcolm Statham all ran well, for Statham it was his 199th marathon.

Nottingham 10km

Adrian Mussett and Anita Mussett celebrated their 10th wedding Anniversary at the Nottingham 10km, Adrian was 2nd overall in 32:15 and first veteran, while Anita clocked 49:38.

Kirton 5

The Kirton 5 run on a flooded course saw a superb run from Laura Shewbridge in 31:19 2nd overall, Paul Preston 29:11, Tom Cresswell 29:37 and Richard Boden 31:58, were well to the fore.

5km series and Park Run

The Maldon Evening promenade 5km saw Ramadam Osman win in 16:00, Max Caulfield was 3rd 17:22 and Doug McGill 6th 17:51. Helen Bloomfield was 1st lady 19:55 and Ella Neale 2nd 20:17, Jenny Richardson made it a good night for the ladies 4th in 22:57. Other Harriers to run were Danny Millward 17:54, Anthony Barraclough 17:57, Fergus Crouch 17:58, Aaron Marley 18:04, Keith Marley 18:45, Jo Boden 18:48,Richard Boden 18:49, Andy Raynor 18:59. Kevin Higgens 19:30, Dan Wilkinson 21:08 and Simon Morgan 21:24.

The Harwich 5km was run in good conditions Paul Preston was 3rd fastest man on the night in 17:28 but top award went to Laura Shewbridge 1st lady in 18:54. Other good runs came from Tom Cresswell 17:38, Richard Boden 18:49, Richard Millward 19:46, Jo Boden 20:10, Ady Frost 20:32, Steven Clarke 22:43 and Sharon Frost 23:30.

The latest batch of Park runs saw Ramadam Osman 15:56 winning and breaking the Mersea record held by team mate Angus Holford. Alex Williamson was 3rd 19:38, Richard Flutter 5th 19:45, Annette Oakman 2nd lady 21:44 and Pat Marsh 21:59. Great Cornard saw Wayne Cook runner up 17:42, with Tom Cresswell just behind 18:10, Jerry Waldron was in the top 10 19:56, with Rebecca Cooke 2nd lady. The mid wales Dolgellau park run was won by David Wright, with Fran Norris 23:13 setting a new over 55 record and was 2nd lady on the day.

Colchester Castle 5km was won by Harriers latest signing Nat Filer in 17:36, Joanne Martin made it a Harriers double being first lady in 22:03.
In the Elmstead market off road trail half Marathon Richard Flutter was runner up in 1:59:16 with Laura Shewbridge 3rd 1:59:19 and first lady, Kirsty Preece was 20th in 2:39:15.
