Several of Harriers successful throws group attended and competed at the annual Hammer Circle Reunion held in Hull over 12 / 13 October 2019.

The weekend was a gathering of some of the finest hammer throwing talent, in many age groups from around the UK, Including world finalist Nick Miller, who was very close to a podium finish in Doha.

On a fine Autumn day on the Saturday, Josephine Larkins threw a solid 47.51m for overall second place in the Under 17 age group. This was followed by a Club Record, and PB in the weight throw of 16.07m. Josephine was also the recipient of a cash prize for her efforts, courtesy of the British Athletics Supporters Club. On Sunday in pouring rain she was able to reach a solid 46.54m.

Wyatt Larkins was able to underpin his UK number 2 ranking at Under 13 Level with two wins, the first in the Hammer with 36.79m and the second created a club record for the weight throw of 13.59m. Wyatt was also close to his PB with the heavier 4 kilo, in the poor conditions on Sunday, with 32.50m

The resurgent James Hamblin, despite being in the early stages of a first full winter training was able to record his third best ever throw, to finish third in the Senior competition with a figure of 59.86. This gave him third place overall behind seasoned campaigners and Internationals, Joe Bloomfield and Tom Head. Both of whom are targets for 2020!

To round off the day on Saturday, Rob Earle recorded his longest distance for the season with 53.88m. An age 59 best and world lead for the M55 age group in 2019.
