Musset sets great times

Colchester Harriers Adrian Mussett  is running at the top of his form, setting the mark by winning the Salisbury park Run in 15-23 then the tough Barnstaple park run in 15-48, Sarah Stradling won the ladies in 18-19 both times were course age records,  Anita Mussett clocked 23-43, Sarah Ivory won the same race the week previous in 19-34, with her soon to be husband Chris Sellens 3rd in 17-00.

Mussett then went on to clock a superb 15-24 At the Elite Ipswich twilight 5km in a class field, Mussett was 10th overall and first veteran, the winner was Ryan McLeod of Tipton Harriers in 14-10.  Colchester took the 2nd team prize thank to Daz Farrugia 17-08 and Pete West 17-35. Paul Rodgers ran a personal best  17-49, for the ladies Becky Cooke passed the line in 20-04.   In the 10km race Marie Shirley clocked 39-59 as did Paul Preston, Simon Smith is coming back to form 41-04, with Jerry Walder running a best ever time of 42-13.

Allen smalls was first veteran at the race the train race at Tywyn Mid Wales.

The Clacton half marathon held on a very hot day saw Mark Harrod 5th in 1-29, with Martyn Clarke clocking 1-30, in the 10km race Debbie Cattermole was first lady over 50, and Andrea James 2nd lady overall in 42-00, Arthur Whiston won the over 60 prize. Debbie Cattermole then went on to be first lady at the Cornard Park Run in 21-48,

Martyn Clarke was the runner up at the Kirkaldy Park run in Scotland clocking 18-49. The new  Harwich  Park run saw Pete West 2nd 18-34 and Paul Rodgers 3rd 18-45, Hannah Rodgers did a brilliant 26-11.

The final Evening Maldon promenade 5km was held in heavy rain and strong winds and the times at this quick race dived with only one runner breaking 18 minutes. Colchester harrier finishers were 3 Danny Millward 18-17, 4 Paul Preston 18-26, 8 Joseph Boden 19-19, 9 Chris Manby 19-21, 10 David Wright 19-23, 13 James Waterson (Pb) 19-40, 15 Eleanor Mayne 19-52, 23 Andrea James 20-45, 24 Ian Haw 20-54, 28 Pat Marsh 21-39, 29 Holly Egan 21-42, 38 Hannah Rodgers 23-48, 53 Lily Waterson 26-52( Pb) , 59 Masie Waterson 28-23.

The Colchester Park run saw Danny Millward lead the green vests home in 4th spot 18-55, with Simon Taylor 5th 19-03 and David Wright 6th 19-16. Other  Harriers times were Eleanor Mayne 19-50 1st lady,  Malcolm Statham 20-07 (Pb), Arthur Whiston 20-29, Mark Baker 20-39, Richard Millward 21-21, Holly Egan 22-34, Liz Cudmore 27-45, Rachel Richardson-Wright (Pb) 28-37.
