Mussett on top form
Colchester Harriers Adrian Mussett had a sensational run at the New York Paris 8km held in Central Park, 5000 runners went to the line and Mussett came home 6th in 26:18 beaten only by 4 Kenyans and an American and was 1st Veteran. Anita Mussett finished well up the field in the ladies race.

Arthur Whiston celebrated his retirement with an over 65 win at the Clacton Half Marathon, Sophie Stephenson was 5th lady they both clocked 1:41:52 in very windy conditions.

Malcolm Statham completed his 185th marathon in 3:31 at Wheathampstead.

Fran Norris strode to an over 55 victory at le Porge 10km in France getting to the finish in 47:35, Norris was 11th lady and first super veteran.

The Mersea 10 and 5 mile races are tough, but Harriers produced good results with Craig Mitchell 1st veteran over 40 and 9th overall. Then came Simon Smith, Richard Boden and Malcolm Statham. Danny Millward was 3rd in his first 5 mile race, with Paul Rodgers not far behind in 4th.

The Colchester Castle Rio themed Park run was started by Colchester Harriers Olympic Race walking athlete Dominic King. A huge field of 419 ran the 5km, with Harriers supplying both winners in Angus Holford 16:32 and Sarah Stradling 18:35, Harriers then had Mark Harrod 3rd in 17:43 just beating team mate Adam Sawyer 4th 17:43 to the line. Sarah Stradling was 5th overall, with Andy Raynor 6th in 18:44 and John Fryer 7th 18:37. Ellie Mayne was 3rd lady in 20:47.
