Smalls continues his great from

Colchester Harriers Allen Smalls has been on top form this year winning numerous off Road Marathons. For a change Smalls went to the Lake District to take part in the famous Coniston 14 a hilly road race. Smalls was pleased with his time of 1.22 for 5th place, as he continues his warm up for the Northumbrian 100 mile race in May. Fay Smalls also competed and ran a good 2:17.

Thurston 10km

At the Thurston 10km Paul Preston was 12th in 36:45 with Tom Cresswell 18th in 37:42. Malcolm Statham ran his 193rd Marathon at the Daffodil Dawdle in 4:10.

Park Runs

Great Results at numerous park Runs, Angus Holford clocked a new record for the second week running at the Durham North Carolina park run in a superb time of 15:49. It was a 1,2 at Mersea Island thanks to Paul Rodgers and Mark Harrod, it was another 1,2 at Great Cornard with Wayne Cook 17:45 and Drew Olley 18:31 doing the honours. It was three in the first 4 at Colchester Castle with Fergus Crouch 17:57 winning, from Max Caulfield 18:13 runner up and Andy Raynor 4th 18:35. Elspeth Bisson 19:59 and Jasmine West 21:30 also produced a 1,2 for the lady Harriers.

Duathlon

Paul Spowage and Helen Bloomfield competed in the European Qualifying Duathlon at Worksop Nottinghamshire over a 5km run, 20km bike and 2.5 km run course. Spowage qualified for the 2018 European Championships while Bloomfield was unlucky to just miss out.
