EYAL: Luton

Final day of EYAL arrived, bright and breezy and the coach set off to Luton to see what the athletes had to offer at the end of a fine season of racing and performances from the young athletes. The day produced some excellent performances by all who attended with PBS on the track from plenty of athletes

U13 Track

Eleanor Hopgood -100M and Jessica Elmer. Aliyah SOAMES -200M, 1st place. Hannah Rodgers – 800M and 200M . In the 1500M Mary Robinson and Jessica Elmer . Mary Robinson -hurdles. Charlie Walder -100m and 800m, Sam Hoffman -hurdles and Henry Lawes making his debut for the club in 100m ran a fantastic 12.3 and broke the club record gaining 1st place, along with 200m 1st place later in the day.

U15 Track

Katie Rice – hurdles and Amber Fisher – 800M with Mufaro Shava 1st in 100m , Archie French 800m, Joe Regan 800m and Max Caulfield 1500m all achieved PBs.

U17 Track

Faith Alao – 200M and Elle Murphy ran pbs along with Rob Harvey 200m, Luke Thurston 200m, Donovan Drayton 100m and 200m, James Hoddell 100m, Thomas Moore 400m, Oscar Dawson a fine 800m pb and 1st place, taking the lead from the outset, with Charlie Everest 800m (1st) following.

U13 Field

Aliyah Soames -PB shot put and broke her PB and the club record in the Javelin with 22.24. Isabella Minder – shot and long jump. Amalia Dean – discus .and Eliza Betts – javelin. The U13 boys who gained pbs included Sam Hoffman long jump, Marcus Thurston shot, long jump and high jump, Charlie Walder long jump and Ziggy Lambton discus.

U15 Field

Jasmine Marley – discus and Rachel Harvey a PB for them both. Megan Courtney – javelin PB. The u15 boys who joined the pbs were Mufaro Shava discus, Joe Regan high jump and Jed Asemota long jump.

U17 Field

Courtney Bland High jump, gaining first places in the long jump with (PB) and triple jump (PB). Millie Belbin 1st – 100M – Long jump and triple jump. Elle Murphy – discus and Javelin . Rebecca Jeggo narrowly missed out on a 1st in the 100M, stormed home to win the 300M and then threw a PB throw in the javelin. The boys were not to be left out of field event pbs and Donovan Drayton had pb in long jump, Jordan Fester managed 3 pbs in the following, shot, discus and javelin, Rob Harvey and Alex Godley both gained valuable points for the club.

Relays and Overall

The day ended with wins in the U17 womens relay, and U15 boys relays.
The club finished 3rd team of the day and a provisional 13th place in the league, a place higher than last year.
