Ipswich 14th September

At the end of a long season some of the Harriers senior men throwers were to the fore, and heavy points scorers, at the East of England Inter counties championships in Ipswich when competing for Essex. The six – team format saw wins for the Senior men’s team, and the combined male and female team.

First off, with a very early start, was Billy Praim Singh who scored an emphatic win in the Hammer with 51.51. In the B competition Rob Earle was able to add another win to take maximum points.

To follow this Paul Cooper took a win in the Javelin with a throw of 48.00 and a solid third place in the Shot.

In the Discus the roles were reversed for Billy and Rob. The latter took overall second place, in his final senior competition, with a season’s best of 37.08. With Billy throwing his second best ever throw of 35.44 to take maximum B string points.
