Brighton Marathon

Harrod runs personal best

The Brighton marathon is a popular race, although strong winds can often make it a tough event. This years race had its fair share making the coastal miles hard work. Mark Harrod bust 3 hours for the first time clocking 2-55-39 for 47th place overall and 15th Veteran over 40 in a field of 13,000. Chris Manby did well to run 3-08 after not being at his best over the last couple of weeks leading to the Marathon, Manby was well up on time at the half way point to beat the 3 hour barrier, but the conditions in the second half of the race took their toll. Both runners will be aiming to lower their Personal bests at The Chester marathon in October.
